Question by Joel B. · Nov 27, 2012 at 02:44 AM ·

Some web requests are not automaticaly detecting applications

Hello,

We are using out of the box configuration for automatic application detection by host. We have a large number of web requests that are not returning any Application ID value, which is limiting our ability to take full advantage of UEM functionality.

What could we do to allow these URI paths to report a value for application ID?

Thanks,

Joel

Hi Joel

You can define your own URL Patterns to map to an Application. Check out the information in the doc: Applications
The best approach is to check the Web Requests that are currently not automatically identifed. Have a look at the PurePaths for those that are not mapped. On the entry point node open the Details to see host and URL. Use this information to configure your custom Applications

Andreas -

When I go to the "Web Requests" dashlet and group by application, there is one application that has a name of "-", which are the web requests in question.

However, when I right-click and drill down on from the "-" application to the purepaths, all of the purepaths are assigned to an Application ID that was automatically detected.

It seems that it is only the web requests that are not assigned to an application. Is there anything you know of that could be causing this behavior or should I go to support?

Thanks for the assistance, I greatly appreciate it.

Regards,
Joel B

Thats is interesting. In this case I almost thing this might be a bug. Could you open a support ticket for this and attach a session to the ticket? The engineering team should look into this
