AppMon Integration with Network Monitoring Tools.

Hi Guys,

Is there option or workaround to integrate AppMon with other Network Monitoring Tools such as HP Openview / Solarwinds / NNM etc?

Regards,

Meraj

Hi

There are multiple options. You can either query data from dynaTrace to "import" it into these monitoring tools using our Reporting REST interfaces. Or - you can write your own Action Plugins to push data to an external system. More information on this can be found here: Developing a User Plugin

It also depends on what you really want to do. "Integrate" is a broad term. I normally look at tool integration in two basic ways: alerting and reporting.

dynaTrace can send alerts/incidents to other event management tools if you want to integrate the alerts from DT with alerts from other tools.

Reports/data in dynaTrace can be accessed by other tools as Andi explained above. However, you can sometimes shows reports/data from other tools with dynaTrace if that is preferred. There are several plug-ins on the community portal that are used to take data from 3rd party tools and pull them into dynaTrace.

There is also a very handy "web page" dashlet in dynaTrace which you can use to show data from any web page in a dynaTrace dashboard. I used this approach to display charts/data from other tools if they have web-based reporting.
