Hi,
I am trying to create an incident alert for a specific DB exception within an Exception Class.
It appears dT is only allowing me to alert on the whole class, but not for a specific exception within that class.
The Exception Class is System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException. This class throws a lot of exceptions and I don't want to be alerted on all of them. I only care when the exception message contains "Time expired. The timeout period elapsed..."
There does not appear to be a way for me to filter and send out an incident alert only for this specific exception message. See my screen shot below. dT allows me to create a measure for the entire exception class, but not for a specific exception within this class.
Is there a workaround or am I missing something??dbexceptions.JPG

Yes, I am still on 5.0
Is there a workaround you can think of at the moment for 5.0?
There is a workaround - but - I dont even want to propose it as it might mean that you have to disable the Exception Sensor and with that lose some core functionality. I really suggest to upgrade to 5.5
