Hi,
Could you please let me know whether dynaTrace 5.5 support monitoring of Web Logic. We have Oracle Forms based application that run on Web Logic Application Server (10.3.3).
Thanks
Raghavan

Raghavan-
dynaTrace in its entirety is actually not a good fit for Oracle Forms. While it does have a Weblogic frontend, those Servlet requests turn right around and call into the native Oracle Forms container, which dynaTrace cannot provide visibility into. Oracle did this a few versions ago to provide a web UI, in addition to the older fat client UI, but the web frontend basically acts a proxy into the Oracle Forms code. The PurePath data that is captured by dynaTrace will look exactly the same for every request, and only be about 3-4 Java calls deep in the stack.
DCRUM would be a better fit for Oracle Forms because it can actual decode the Oracle Forms packets, which can provide some additional insight into the native Forms container. A combination of dynaTrace UEM and DCRUM would be valuable as well for providing some visibility into the frontend end user experience.
I'll send you an email offline so we can discuss this further.
Thanks,
Kevin

Looked in the release notes earlier and it said WebLogic is supported, but didn't have Oracle Forms, so wanted to confirm whether Oracle Forms 11g is supported with WebLogic.
Thanks
Hi Raghavan,
Our support model is for Application Servers rather than Applications, and as such if the application is hosted on WebLogic it is supported.
Thanks,
