My client has two installations of dynaTrace. The first installation has been functional for almost a year. The second one that was recently setup/installed was created similarly to the first. The problem is that we do not see any output, PurePaths, method calls, etc. when we run a simple Java application, Apache process, etc. If I take a CPU sampling when one of these jobs is running I get output from the sampling but do not get output on any other dashboard (methods, etc.) I am seeing an error (I believe in the correlation/server log) pertaining to a SEVERE error where dynaTrace is unable to obtain an internal systemprofile (??)
Is there any way to see (maybe increasing the server or collector logging level) if the collector is actually receiving data, if the performance warehouse is storing data metrics or if the server is actually able to process the requests? The logs don't seem to indicate anything outside of the SEVERE error mentioned. I also Googled the SEVERE error and was unable to find anything about its cause or correction.

Hi THomas
Obviously the agent connects to the dynaTrace Collector/Server as otherwise you would not be able to do a CPU Sampling. One thing you can try is to restart the Collector and the Agent(=Application) and try again. Maybe something happened during the startup phase.
If that doesnt help i suggest to open a support ticket.
I am able to see the Agent connect to the Collector/Server as you mentioned but the Agent is listed as "Instrumentation: disabled" which is strange as the Agent configuration is just as shown in the "Add Tier" dialog. The instrumentation is initially listed as "enabled" but changes to "disabled" after startup. I have restarted the Collector and Agent a number times but have the same behavior.
