Sorry that your question apparently fell through the cracks so far!
I don´t know enough about the ins and outs of the involved products to give an anywhere satisfactory answer, but I´ll try to get you more insight from our specialists ASAP!

For sure you could instrument the 3DCom Java app, but that´s nowhere end to end. <g>
I´m on it.

We are working for technical IT applications with rpoducts of Dassault; the Designers are using for PDM (Product Data Management) the product Enovia VPM with 3DCom as Front-End and also an Oracle database; for designing the product they use is CATIA V5;

3DCom starts in Java and works with orbix-connections to the server; the server uses an Oracle-connection to the database;

Is there anywhere in the forum a hint what can be done for APM of those applications?

Merci beaucoup

Michael

Hi Michael,

You could certainly monitor the Java side of things with an agent (assuming it runs in a Sun or IBM JVM). For the Orbix communication layer I don't have big hopes, haven't seen this one in use before - I would not count on it just working.

Is the server also Java? If yes, we could again use the agent there and if database access uses JDBC you would also see that without any issues.

Best, Roman
