Performance Warehouse connectivity issue when using Host and Instance name

Hi,

Today we are in the process of migrating DT from 4.2 to 5.6 and when connecting to the performance warehouse from DT 5.6 client, it throws a message box (big RED cross) but no message in it. We verified DB, instance and SQL login credentials and everything looking good. We are suspecting jdbc connection string generated.

I need help to resolve this issue, did anyone faced this issue with 5.6 migration earlier.

SQL Database SQLSERVER 2012

Host Name: SERVER_NAME\INSTANCE_NAME

Database Name: dynaTraceTCE

Also passing in SQL user credentials.

Any help at the earliest greatly appreciated.

We resolved it:

In DT Client, I followed below syntax for the DB Name and HOST Name:

Database Name = dynaTrace;instance=INSTANCE_NAME

HOST Name: SERVER_NAME

I am referring to the dynaTrace Server Log file. You can access it through the System Information Dashlet in your Client. The dT server writes a log file and should contain information in case there is something wrong with the connectivity to the performance warehouse

When you say server log file do you mean event viewer?

Can you look into the dynaTrace server log file? Any more details in there?
