Question on IIS 6.0 dt Agent Instrumentation

Hi All,

I had an issue when injecting agents into IIS 6.0 (we've successfully done that on other machines)

-          After editing the dtwsagent.ini file and ISAP filter, the agent didn't show on the agent overview, even not showing as offline agent. We didn’t see any log file from dt part or IIS side.

-          Collector and agent latency =0 ms

-          We restarted the machine.

I wonder if anybody get such experience before? Would someone point some directions?

Thanks a lot,

Meng

The Agent that actually connects to the dynaTrace Collector/Server is the dynaTrace Web Server Agent. The dynaTrace Web Server AGent on Windows runs as a windows service - so - make sure that this windows service is running. If this service is not running the ISAPI Filter that we load into IIS will not be able to send data and wont show up in the Agent Overview.

If this Windows Service is started but you still dont see it in the Agent Overview I would

a) double check your entries in dtwsagent.ini

b) make sure this machine can connect to the dynaTrace Collector configured in dtwsagent.ini

c) check the dtwsagent log files to see why it couldnt connect to the Collector
