Hi,
I was wondering if anyone is using dynaTrace APM to measure and monitor QlikView performance? It seems to be a a real need in the market, some people, even from Qlikview are using our Ajax Edition to measure bit of user experience /Qlikview client.
But I could not find references to measures for Qlikview server, and I'm actually trying to deploy a server and verify we an instrument there.
Thanks in advance for your time,
Carlos.

Hi,
Just to confirm we are able to measure and report on QlikView successfully.
We have switched their default web server to IIS, and loaded our web server modules + UEM scripts and instrumented on the 2 app pools QlikView uses, see screenshot below:

We are getting UEM data and user actions, have successfully instrumented the web server (changed the defaut/propietary to IIS) and two app pools. We can also display LOGON_USER in the visits, so this is the expected result.
Bests,
Carlos.

Just a humble update, Qlikview uses a proprietary web server, a tinny one, pretty flat...but if you switch to IIS (which is also supported by them -and I'd recommend everyone to use IIS...-) you can - at least - get info from UEM and web server sensors.
Qlikview is used by large organizations and to display critical info and data cubes, so it is an interesting application to monitor.
Bests,
Carlos.

Hi,
And my apologies for the delay, haven't received any updates notifications from the Forum for some reason, so I'm checking in manually =)
We'll get our hands on Qlikview in a couple of weeks, to find out it it runs a JVM or not, we do have a large customer experiencing performance issues, and they don't know if there are issues at the client side (we will confirm which technology they use), or the QView server. So we are working on it, hope to get some news in 2 or 3 weeks, I'll keep you posted.
I was thinking on using the Ajax Edition which rocks for such situations, but my guess is they have a dedicated client for it, either Ajax or Win32 or similar (it could also be Java...still trying to confirm).
This is part of a larger deployment so we are still working on BTs in Prod, then we will move to QView.
Thank you Andreas, Chris!

Hi Carlos
I have not heard of QlikView before - but - in case you dont get an answer from the community but give it a try on your own to instrument QilkView let us know about your experience with it. Assuming that QlikView is based on Java, .NET or PHP it should be no problem to not only analyze the browser performance with our Ajax Edition or Browser Agent but also full end-to-end performance with our End-to-End PurePath
