Automated reporting: difference between reports

Hello,

Everyday i perform a load test on our load test environnement

I have created several business transactions to obtain statistics.

The result dashboards are send to our departements (testing, design, product management,...) by using the report creation dynatrace functionality.

Now people ask me to show a report with statistic differences = the difference between product version releases

Example (transaction on web server)

Test Product version 1.0:Average web request pure path duration 10sec

Test Product version 2.0:Average web request pure path duraton 8 sec

Result dashboard product version 2.0: Average web request pure path duration:  - 2 sec (improvement)

Other Example (transaction on database query)

Test Product version 1.0:query 1: 5sec, query 2 2 sec

Test Product version 2.0:query 1: 6sec, query 2 1 sec

Result dashboard: Product version 2.0: query 1: +1 sec sec, query 2 -1 sec

Is this possible with dynatrace or do we need to use the rest api and create own reportsy?

Thx

This can be easily done on dynaTrace, each purepath based dashlet has a "Comparison" funcionality under Properties, including the Business Transaction dashlets.

What  you do is you save a offline session with the purepaths from your "load test 01" and use that offline session as the "Compare Source" while using the purepaths from your load test 02 as the original filter. If you don't want to save a session for each test you can also just set a time filter on the comparison source.

The client will then show you the difference between the metrics you are seeing on the dashlet, example:
