Hello everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has used the Top Process Monitoring Plugin?
If so what benefits does it actually bring other than having a history of the processes, can we drill down into it and see more information?
There is not a lot of information on the Plugin Page, and does it work on dT 5.5?

Thank you, that makes a lot more sense,
I am having a probelm!
After some looking I see your problem from the plugin page:
DO NOT SUBSCRTIBE LINUX SPECIFIC MEASURES TO A MONITOR CONFIGURED FOR WINDOWS HOSTS OR WINDOWS SPECIFIC MEASURES TO A MONITOR FOR LINUX HOST. THE PLUGIN WILL VERIFY THIS AND FAIL TO SETUP. |

In the monitor configuration, go to the tab for the measures and de-select the following:

Hello,
We have no installed this plugin,
I have configured the datasource and the hosts (filters) and all I am getting is "Please adapt chart source settings."
When I try and look at one of the Series in the chart it has this:
Any idea how I can fix this? My manager wants to show this to our other teams.
Hi Jamie,
Have you configured a Monitor in the System Profile? You have to choose the hosts and define the authentication to run top on the desired hosts. If it still does not work you may need to add the measures manually to replace the existing ones in the charts, in case of a mismatch of the Monitor name.
Check out this doc page for more details, and let us know if you run into any issues: Monitors
Hope that helps,

Hello Jamie,
The Top Process Monitor Plugin monitors any process running on the operating system, not only processes with dynaTrace agents. This can be useful to detect if some other process is consuming resources from the host. For example, if you notice a high CPU load which is not caused by the monitored application process, you can find out which process is consuming CPU.
Drill-down works the same as any other System Monitoring measure. It wont give you any Purepaths from these processes since they are not instrumented.
It should work normally on dT 5.5 and higher.
Regards,
Paul
