Incident report

Hi ,

I have a requirment to create incident reports. I have set incident rule and scheduled it to run every 10 mins.

I need to filter alerts whose start date time falls between last 10 mins .

For eg:

Alert A is triggered at 12:00

This alert should be displayed when schedule is run at 12:00

When alert schedule runs at 12:10 eventhough this alert is still running and not ended It should not be displayed in the report. (Alert should be displayed only once)

Could you please suggest ?

Thanks and Regards,

Ashwin

Hi Ashwin

I am not 100% sure if I completely understand your requirement. But - if you want to report on which incidents have been started in the last 10 minutes then you could start by looking at the Incident Dashlet. The Incident Dashlet shows you all Incidents including Start and End Time.

What I dont really understand in your requirement is what information you would like to send out? Do you simply want to send out an email to a group of people letting them know about which Incidents started in the last 10 minutes?

The "default" way on how Incidents & Alerts work in dynaTrace is that you can define Incident Start and End Actions. By default dynaTrace can send out an email when an incident starts. This will be done for every Incident where you have configured to use EMail Alerting. Have you looked into this option? Or do you want to send out a "summary" list of Incidents that started in the last 10 minutes?

Please help us better understand your requirement - then we can figure out how to accomplish this with dynaTrace
