I was looking at layer breakdown and wanted to set an alert for Execution Time Java Network I/O. How to do this as this seems to be a dynamic measure and I see no option of editing and setting a threshold so as to raise an incident.

Hey Jibi,
I think this is an API definition, so it's a bunch of methods rolled into it. You should be able to create an alert on this by creating a Business Transaction that calculates the CPU or Execution Time for an API.
From that you can create an Incident that will alert based on the API Threshold you set when you create the business transaction.
I should note that I looked in a few different system profiles and didn't see any Java Network IO; but I did see JSP and created my business transaction from that.

Edit:
Even though I didn't see that specific measure, I looked at other dynamically created measures and found that they were in the list of items under the API Breakdown that I could calculate from. So, it is a strong possibility that measure will be there as well.

Hi Jibi
Our baselining ONLY works on response time and failure rate. It doesnt work on any custom result measures.
In your case I think the best is if you simply specify a static threshold on your API Measure and use this as a condition for your Alert
