I am looking at the API Breakdown in Dynatrace. I dont understand what I am seeing.
So I see for ..NET remoting the exec sum is 1027236.09, and the exec average is 486.62.
For ADO.NET the exec sum is 5330814.27 and the exec avg is 110.73.
I was thinking the exec avg is just the exec sum divided by the total requests processed. So then the ratio between Exec Avg and Exec Sum should be the same for .NET Remoting vs. ADO.NET. But they are not. I see that the ratio of exec sum is about 2 to 1 remoting vs. ado.net. But the exec avg is about 5 to 1 .net remoting vs ado.net.
What am i missing?

The Average is the Average time in that API per PurePath whereas the Sum is the Total Sum. The Average is really calculated by looking at each individual PurePath and it is not just divided by the number of PurePaths. Also - you can have PurePaths where calls to one API are included but not the other. I hope that explains it.
