I believe I just found out why DT falsely recognizes visits as coming from IE7.
This is the user agent string (UAS) from a client using IE10:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/6.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E; InfoPath.3; MS-RTC LM 8; Tablet PC 2.0; TS7)
This UAS is recognized as IE7 by dynatrace, except in reality it is a IE10 in compatibility mode. As described here on the IE dev blog by Microsoft: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2011/04/15/the-ie10-user-agent-string.aspx
Where the string “Trident/6.0” specifically identifies it as compatibility mode of IE10
Is it possible to configure custom UAS parsing in dynatrace? Or should a support ticket be opened for this issue as a general bug?
Kind regards Jan Novak
