identifying repeating visit

Hi, 

Is there an easy way to differentiate between a returning visitor and a new comer ?

Hi. There is no built-in functionality like this in the moment. However - if your app has a concept to identify a new visit, e.g: by setting a cookie like "new-visitor" then you can capture that information with dynaTrace and create a Visit-based BT that filters on this information.

Andi, 

a cookie called "xxx" is assigned to the user once he is logged in to the site for the first time and will then be sent for every request. That being the case, I assume the followiing:

  1. it's a visit based BT
  2. one filter would be to catch this specific "xxx" cookie, using a measure based on the header value of the cookie, where the value xxx is identified
  3. second filter value would be "landing page"

 

  • Am I correct in these assumtions ? 
  • which aggregations should be used in the filtering ? I think it's "sum" for the cookie existance and first for the landing page but am I correct ?
