Recently a client wanted to monitor their large scale IBM WebSphere Commerce Server and eXtreme Scale application with dynaTrace. The application has a web server based front end which directs requests to a large number of application servers running WCS and WXS. With the dynaTrace Java Agent, we were able to monitor both the WCS and WXS JVMs. However, out of the box (with dynaTrace 4.2.0 at least) we were not able to completely follow transactions from WCS Agents to WXS Agents. Here is a document that outlines the configuration we used to monitor these WXS transaction calls along with the custom Sensor Pack.
Please note that this was analyzed, designed, and developed for this particular client environment - use the documentation as a reference and the Sensor Pack at your own risk
