IIS Modules do not appear in configuration

I have ran the Dynatrace Agent installation on a windows server 2012 R2 environment. The .net agent configuration appears, The Dynatrace web server agent is in services and the dtwsagent configuration file is created. However, when I go to the site(in IIS 8.5.9600.16384) and try to configure native Modules there is no option to add Dynatrace Modules.

I installed the below pieces. I also tried opening the IIS section and NOT installing the IIS 6 piece but it made no difference. I am installing the dynatrace-agent-6.1.0.7880 version.

Hi

The installer should register the modules on IIS. It might require an IIS restart for them to show up. If they still dont show up you can register them manually. I restarted IIS to no avail. REgistering them manually at the top level did work though.

glad to hear. that means that our installed could not write the necessary registry keys. If this happens again we could try looking at the installer output - there is a verbose logging option to get more details on where it fails!

I ran into the same issue today using the same installer.

If you have the time. can you run the installer with this command? msiexec /i dynatrace.msi /L*V <DIR>\dt_msi.log -> then send us the dt_msi.log file!

I had the same issue (7.1.0.1803-x86) and I think I found the issue. During the installation, there are 2 questions to enable the .NET agent and the IIS Agent to be started immediately. If you don't click the IIS one, it does not register the agent.

Apparently unchecking that option deletes the property ACTIVATE_IIS7_AGENT, which is responsible for installing the modules.

I'm having this same problem with AppMon 7.0. 6.5 was file. The installer log shows no errors. This has happened on 3 different systems, so far. We have been manually registering the native modules, but it's a nuisance.

Bryce, Did you try running the installer at the command line as suggested by Andreas G? This will provide additional information which might help pinpoint the cause.
