Monitoring Unified Service Desk (USD) and CRM Dynamics

Hello,

I have to monitor a CRM Dynamics SaaS instance exposed through Microsoft Unified Service Desk. My idea is to implement UEM monitoring in CRM Dynamics through the JS agent, but I have a doubt about USD, since I don't know if the javascript agent will work when Dynamics isn't opened from a real browser. Has anyone encountered this situation before? Do you know if the UEM agent still reports data if the page is opened from USD and not from a "real" browser? Many thanks!

Hi Mauro

Have you given this a try since you posted that question? I am not famliar with USD - but - in case parts of that application are web-based and running in a real browser or a browser container you most likely will be fine with using UEM (JavaScript Agent)

Hi Andreas, we will soon perform a try. In my opinion there shouldn't be problems since the browser container should have all the capabilities of the browser. I'll keep you up to date ;)

I have a customer where we are monitoring Dynamics CRM and the Client For Outlook (CFO) which loads some sort of skinned down IE.

In 6.3 we were experiencing issues with the CFO where it would no longer load the pages (just blanks).

Yesterday we migrated to 6.5 and not only did it fix the CFO not loading issue but we are also getting visit information incl User Action PP.

I am not sure that USD will behave the same but it is worth a try. If you do, 6.5 is the way to go :).

Hope this helps.

Hi Kristof,

I've the same problem: how do you added the bootstrap script? Via Web Resource?

BTW, which pages are you monitoring? Because we've only found a solution that can monitor single pages, not the entire website (right now we only plan to add the JS to the Account pages, but the best way to monitor is to add the JS to the menu/footer to monitor the entire website)

Thanks a lot

Nic

Hi Nic,

For this client the auto injection worked fine.

We also did not limit it based on particular pages.

Hey, thanks for the reply...

Ok, so you have the application served from your server... ok, because we have everything in cloud, so we have to use the manual injection...

Hi Kristof, one last question: which integrations have you enabled? jQuery? XHR? Because now I can inject it but it doesn't communicate with DT Server...

Thanks

Hi Nic,

I do not have access to the environment at the moment, so I cannot double check.

In any case you should be able to use Basic XHR Detection to start with, this should already give you some things.

What do you mean with "it doesn't communicate with DT Server"?

Hi Kristof,

loading it as a Web Resource the page is loaded before the agent, so it doesn't communicate anything to the server...

BTW thanks a lot fr the help, now i'm trying something else...
