Message queue OOTB count measure

Hi guys,

Our customer wants us to chart the message count found in the Messaginig dashbaord. Do we have an OOTB meassure for message count? I don't see one. We want to avoid creating a custom meassure for this one and I was wandering what measure the Messaging dashbaord is using to show the message count. Is is getting this value straight from the sensor?

Thanks,

Stan

Hi Stanislav,

There's no OOOT measure that count message found in the Messaginig dashbaord, it's taken from information at the Storage Session (PurePaths).

But you have the option to create a Measure to count the messages from a specific queue or create a BT to Split at the Destination and leave it blank to collect all queues. Doing that you will store the info you need at the Performance Warehouse and be able to create Dashboards.

Check an example: 2016-10-28-07-57-32-business-transactions-dashboar.png

Melory

Hi Melory,

Thanks for clearing this up. I will try your idea and create a BT...

Hi Melory,

Do you know if it is possible to also include the QueueManager name into the splitting results? I don't see a way to include both the Queue name, and QueueManager name, as per the default messaging view. This will help me a lot.

Pieter

Hello Pieter,

I guess this measure is not available OOB but you can use the below fastpack and MQ Monitor to get the desired information.
