UEM traffic estimation?

Hi,

Customer is saying that his UEM is generating vast traffic.

His own website traffic is estimated at 18 Tera bytes.
For the same time period he claims UEM has generated 11 TB.

Does this make sense?

He has alot of customized JDK actions, but i want to know what sort of ratio should have UEM generated without his own specific customizations. Anyone knows what should be the traffic ratio without any special customizations?

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

There are following few factors which can cause a bit overhead but 11 TB out of 18 TB is not understandable.

  • Basic XHR Detection is a generic wrapper for all requests performed with XMLHttpRequest, because it has more overhead than specific framework wrappers, using the specific wrappers whenever possible is recommended.
  • Capturing resource information may cause overhead, especially on browsers that do not support the Resource Timing API.
  • Bandwidth calculation can also increase the overhead due to interval (by default 5 min) at which the bandwidth calculation repeats for a visit. The smaller the value the more accurate the bandwidth if it changes regularly. However, this also produces more overhead.

Regards,

Babar
