CPU Usage Increase of Monitored Applications after Migration and Upgrade between Dynatrace AppMon 6.1 to 7.0.

We have performed a manual migration/upgrade between Dynatrace AppMon version 6.1 to version 7.0 (with update: 7.0.15.1019), we have installed the new server, migrated the System Profiles, reconnected the Performance Warehouse, reinstalled the Dynatrace Agents (to version 7.0) in the monitored applications and we have performed the required restarts. We have notices a CPU consumption increase of the monitored applications since the migration, of around an average of 50%, we even reduce the amount of Auto-Sensor Instrumentation in the Agents but nevertheless that didn’t reduce the CPU consumption trends to the previous levels. Is this normal?, there is a way to reduce this CPU usage?

Hi,

The affected components are JVM machines; we have performed a CPU sampling and we are trying to figure out what is happening, but unfortunately we don’t have a comparable CPU sample of the same components before the migration (so we can compare the before and after performance).

Hi Victor,

What kind of agent are you using? .NET / Java / PHP? When using Java a CPU sampling may reveal more.
