Agent property error: Cannot open log file 'E:\Logs\DynaTrace\/dt_dtwsagent.exe_ Permission denied "

dynatrace-logfile.pngAfter configuring agent to look at the E:\Logs\DynaTrace folder, the client displays an error with acces denied. The agent runs on Local System account, and has full permission on the folder. Is there any other configuration I need to check out?

Agent configuration :

--------------------------------------------------------

# The path to the directory holding the log files

# Default: <agent location>/../../log
LogfilePath E:\Logs\DynaTrace
--------------------------------------------------------

Agent: 7.1.4.1022, WebServer agent.

My bad, i didn't realyze the .exe is simply part of the .log filename.

The reason is likely due to the fact that the process running the webServer is writing this file using permissions that are not permissive. Can you set the directory permissions so that everything is readable by who needs to read it?

Hi @Joseph M. H.

The exe is under C:\Program Files (x86)\Dynatrace\Dynatrace Agent 7.1\ folder

There are some logs at C:\Program Files (x86)\Dynatrace\Dynatrace Agent 7.1\log, but just for bootstrap ones.

Why is there an .exe file in the logs directory? This isn't right.
