User's Browser Threading and Ability to Interact

A recently identified user experience web performance metric is able to measure instances when browser threading is greater than 50ms, which can cause the browser to be unresponsive to user input once the screen has started to paint. Where is such a metric available in Dynatrace? This data is currently available in Chrome.

Just to clarify, marks and measures would not be useful for this - it has to do with the browser threading which is something obtained in Chrome. Basically here is the use case:

Page loads visible elements on screen

at any point after this, the user attempts to click on the page.

The page may or may not respond depending upon the browser threading.

The system should report this delay time.

It sounds like Dynatrace doesn't capture any browser threading activity.

Hello @Joseph G.

User Timings is an additional pack for UEM which captures timings measured by the browser's performance.mark and performance.measure calls.

A page is visually complete when all the visual components have been rendered. It is the time when a user considers that the page is ready to interact with.

Note: Speed index and Visually complete metrics are only available on browsers that support mutationobservers. This includes the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 or later
  • Microsoft Edge 15 or later
  • Firefox 57 or later
  • Google Chrome 61 or later

Regards,

Babar
