how to configure apache IHS on linux in appmon 6.5

Hi,

I am adding apache agent on linux servers running IHS to Appmon6.5.

The documentation is little confusing to me. Can someone get me the steps to configure apache/IHS server with DTAgent settings and how to monitor in DT Console.

Thanks & Regards,

Kishor

Generally there are 2 components from which his agent is build of. First one is master agent (Dynatrace webserver agent). This is process that has to be added to init.d. This is the actual process that will be started and sending data to collector. You also have to add Dynatrace module (parameter to put is provided by Appmon while you are finishing wizard from Add Tier option, you only need to overwrite installation path to binary with determining if it is 32 or 64 bit process. In such cases you have lib or lib64 directory in path), to you web server configuration. In this case this module will collect data, send it to master agent and than to collector and server. All detailed informations about where to put Dynatrace module are in documentation :). You also have to go to installation path of agent and modify file dtwsagent.ini. In this file you are providing name of the agent (according to your agent mapping in system profile) and collector port and address. After this restart master agent, restart ihs and everything should work :)
