Hello @SU C.

according to session you have provided there is no .NET IIS agent present. I don't see there system profile so I will tell you what should be done to use it with Appmon agent or Classic One.

Appmon Agent:

There should be created at least 2 agent groups. One which will be for IIS WebServer, and one for .NET IIS Application Server (both added via add tier wizard).

- You should edit your dtwsconfig.ini to match IIS WebServer Agent groups

- Dynatrace modules should be passed to IIS native modules configurations of your applciation pools.

- WebServer Master Agent should be disabled via services. For Appmon agent it is not used anymore. Set it in service to manual and stop this process.

- Open Dynatrace Agent Configuration Tool, and from this point pick all agent pools that are needed to be monitored and match them to one or (better) multiple agent groups. Generally if you application pools has not only different roles but different code as well, they should be in different agent groups. For webServer there always will be only one agent group per host.

After this from agent configuration tool click Inactive and confirm IIS reset. After complete, click Active and confirm IIS reset again. Agents should connect to Appmon server and work properly.

Classic Agent:

If you want use classic agent, as babar said, you should open your system profile => general and there is option to assign agent croups to be Classic or Appmon one. In this approach all configurations from previous steps will be the same. Only one difference is that Dynatrace WebServer Agent has to be setup in services to automatic and started.

In session you have provided there is only WebServer part.

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you very much.

The method show "aggregated IIS events" is because I select the wrong agent platform?

The web page ".NET Agent" show that ASP.NET Events sensor is not support AppMon Agent 2018 October

Hello, if you are using ASP.NET events it will be better to switch from appmon to classic agent. Also be sure that you have properly configured agents groups as I’ve said before.

You have to remember there in appmon 7.2 appmon agent is default configuration and has to be changed for newly created agents group.

Hi Sebastian,

Webserver is classic agent and .Net IIS is AppMon agent.

Is that mean I have to change classic agent to AppMon agent? How to change agent platform?

Hello @SU C.

For easy migration from existing installations, every 6.x (or later) Bootstrap Agent is capable to switch back and forth between Classic Agent and the AppMon Agent. There is no need to re-configure the Agent injection. The switch of the agent platforms can be simply triggered in the AppMon Client.

Go to Agents Overview and check there on the list Agent Type. I’m asking about it because those 2 agents has different architecture. I

As I understand you also have 2 agents, one for .NET Iis and one for webserver and purepaths contains data from both of them?

Agent is Appmon or classic one? You’ve add Dynatrace modules to iis? Did you add new agent group via add tier or manually? I’ve got multiple customers that has only .NET apps and I didn’t see such nodes on purepath
