How to chart a baseline with current Response Time ...

Hi,

we are creating Dashboards charting Response Time, Failure Rate and Throuhput. The thing is that we want to compare in real time its Response time line with its baseline or benchmark.

Currently, we are warned when a Service Response Time exceeds the baseline but we want to chart both values beside of beeing alerted.

Do you know hoy to make it possible?

Alberto.

Hi,

It's absolutley useful not just for acting on a reactive mode when an alert raise but comparing Response time, and its improvement / deteriotation after a Deployment or an Infrastructure update.

I'll propose the RFE.

In the Applications view, select your Application and monitored Business Transaction. Then click on the small Open in Dashboard link from the response time chart.

FYI, this doesn't work for splitting charts and doesn't give most of the options that a normal chart dashlet does.

For us, the value is in having visibility into the actual baseline values. We also use this for viewing throughputs against baselines since these do not generate alerts.

Baselines can't be charted at the moment and we don't have plans to allow for such currently. Where would you see the value in doing so, since it's already automated in the form of alerts?
