In version 2017 you can change RUM Console session timeout by changing the value of session.timeout property in console.properties file. RUM Console service restart is required for change to be applied.

I believe you can.

Open the administration console -> General properties.

Search for Timeout in the screen. Try changing the "HTTP_SESSION_TIMEOUT" setting.

That setting only seems to control the CAS/ADS. I have the timeout set to 120 and that seems right. I have not timed it, but the RUM console seems to timeout in 15 minutes or so.

I'm totally sorry - you did say RUM Console in the title. My mind flipped to CAS.

You can try changing (navigate the path to where you installed the console):

C:\Program Files\Dynatrace\RUM Console\workspace\configuration\httpclient.properties.

Take a look at the "http.client.connectionTimeout=" setting.

Try changing that. Please make sure you keep the current value somewhere in case that is not the correct place to change it.

I've been looking around the configuration and can't find where you might change it. I found a post stating:

"Session inactivity timeout for Console is set to 20 minutes. You cannot change it."

We may need to wait for someone from development to answer this question.

So this did the trick?

C:\Program Files\Dynatrace\RUM Console\workspace\configuration\httpclient.properties.

Take a look at the "http.client.connectionTimeout=" setting.

Try changing that. Please make sure you keep the current value somewhere in case that is not the correct place to change it.

Changing the value of "http.client.connectionTimeout=" did the trick.

Thanks

It's a bit old thread, but just that we have full set of info in one place - in RUM Console 18.x the session timeout is configurable in "c:\Program Files\Dynatrace\NAM\Console\workspace\configuration\console.properties" file, property

session.timeout=20

(20 minutes is the default setting).

Best Regards,

Tomasz
