Unable to Install Dynatrace Network Analyzer 12.4

Hi All,

Good evening! Trying to install Dynatrace Network Analyzer 12.4 and getting error "Failed to Connect. Please check your password and try again". Able to access the SQL server using both windows and SQL authentication but during DNA installation under Database Creation menu, always getting fail to connect.

Had followed the DNA installation guide via this URL but still having issue...

https://community.dynatrace.com/community/pages/viewpage.action?title=Installing+DNA+console&spaceKey=DNA124

Using the following hardware and software:
Laptop - WIN7 Professional SP1 (Core I5 @ 2.60Ghz | RAM - 8GB | 64 bit OS | T430 Lenovo)
MS Office 2013
SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition
DNA Software 12.4

Can you please help to provide some tips on how to sort out this issue.

Thanks...Slim

All,

Need to know if the SQL version is the issue here. As per software requirement, SQL Server 2008 R2 is supported and this SQL support WIN7. Or do we need SQL 2012 version?

Thanks....Slim

I can confirm SQL Server 2008 R2 is supported by DNA, though we typically run it on SQL Server 2012. Windows 7 is supported as well (SP1 is required).

All,

Managed to make it work by using WIN2K8 OS, install SQL Express 2012 (plus .Net4) and enable the .NET role and feature. Noticed that in order that SQL DB of the DNA to work need to enable in the configuration manager the TCP/IP and SQL server browser then restart the SQL.

Next step is to request for the license.

Thanks....Slim

Hi Slim,

I can see you found the relevant install instructions in the docs, but just a few comments:

- SQL Server Browser has to be running when you want to connect to a named instance of SQL Server (it is optional if using a default instance of SQL Server)

- You can request for a demo license with Support JIRA, project License Management (SUPLIC)
