NAM upgrading order, GA+SP1 or SP1?

When upgrading DCRUM 2017 to NAM,(2018) do we install first the GA release followed by SP1 (due oct), or can SP1 be applied directly?

If you plan the migration when SP1 is available then it's a straight upgrade from 2017 directly to NAM 2018 SP1 release (each SP release is a combined / all-in-one package GA+SPx). Or you can upgrade to GA now and install SP1 in ~3 weeks - two updates in practice. Your call.

Thanks Przemyslaw. That applies also to 12.4>2017.

Will SP1 be again a downloadable package, or has the upgrade process changed?

Yes, nothing has changed in this area

There are some changes in the product (NAM 2018) that you need to be aware of

* No ADS server as standalone component -> if you had ADS your existing license will now be updated to include ADOD (Advanced Diagnostics on Demand feature) ~ ADS functionality provided by NAM server (aka CAS) and NAM Probe (aka AMD) in 2018 and beyond

* Built in SSO mechanism (log in once, stay logged in while you navigate through components RUM Console -> NAM server and vice versa)

* DLM licensees are now distributed in eServices format, so DLM software is no longer used

Note, if you have 12.4, you can't upgrade straight to NAM 2018, but through mid step - 2017.

See complete upgrade guide in our documentation.

Shall you have more questions regarding upgrade in a specific environment, as always it's best to open a migration ticket and put these questions in context of that specific installation.
