In NAM, can you expand the time it takes to create a PDF off a large dashboard? I can't create a PDF on a dashboard that is for 7 days.

Have a multi-sectioned dashboard and want to email it as a PDF. With 7 days of data, it creates a 0 byte .pdf, Lower the absolute timing to under 7 days and it works. Do not receive a timeout error? Not sure if there is a data point or creation time limit?

rasterizer.log had this message: I increased the userproperty to 180000ms. The second item, processlimit is not an item in the config. Will wait till this evening to restart server as this is prod.

T RASTR    19-08-22 16:24:16.580    [15649009695fa5fa7b433a39ad2f38c252aabce4] Timeout during rasterizing highchart. Timeout can be increased by setting DMI_REPORT_CHART_HC_EXPORT_TIMEOUT userproperty (current value: 120,000ms); number of concurrent rasterizations can be changed by setting DMI_REPORT_CHART_HC_EXPORT_PROCESSLIMIT (current value: 2). Server restart is required to apply new values

Randy,

It looks like you're on the right track, increasing value of property DMI_REPORT_CHART_HC_EXPORT_TIMEOUT seems to be right approach, so , please, try to experiment with different values.

Apart from that I can suggest dividing the report into smaller parts using filters, if it's possible for this particular report.

If both those options will not work, I can only say that migration to 2019 might help also here, because in that version there is more parameters which can be used for print to pdf fine tuning

Hi Randy,

Situation you described is not caused by 7 days long time range, but by huge amount of data on the report. There is no limitation on time range here.

We need some more information to analyze situation, find out the detailed root cause and (perhaps) suggest settings allowing you to export such a big report to pdf. Please, provide:

* server version (I guess it is 2017, but which SP?)

* server.log covering time when 0 bytes long pdf file was generated

* rasterizer.log covering the same period of time (you'll find it in the same directory as other logs)

Best Regards

Jacek
