Base automatic sites AS vs CIDR

I would like to know what is the difference between AS and CIDR option in the automatic sites CAS configuration.

Also if chose the option "no automatic sites", there will have no user aggregation (the option is greyed out). Does that means there will have no user aggregation? What is the impact?

Hello Qin,

AS (Autonomous systems) and CIDR blocks are two ways of dividing networks and the Internet IP addresses. NAM server can use any of them for assigning IP addresses to autoamtic sites (when address seen in the traffic does not belong to any site defined by user) and for user aggregation.

No automatic sites setting does not mean that users are not aggregated at all. That only means, that NAM server will not create automatic sites. In such case users still may be aggregated to custom sites defined by user plus to built in: All other Sites, Internet, Default Data Center, according to selected user’s aggregation mode.

Details of user aggregation configuration are defined in section User options on the same NAM Server configuration page.

Best Regards,

Jacek
