Announcing the Community Member of the Month for March 2017!

Please join me in congratulating Bert Van der Heyden, the Dynatrace Community Member of the Month for March!

Bert is an APM consultant working in the Software Delivery Enablement Services (SDES) division for Realdolmen. His recent work included creating two really useful AppMon plugins that he unhesitatingly shared with the rest of the Community:

  • REST Monitor Plugin: Parses the result of an HTTP call and extracts one or more measures.
  • TFS/VSTS Test Automation Plugin: Integrates AppMon within TFS/VSTS builds allowing you to see AppMon results in TFS/VSTS builds and control the build process when AppMon detects regression issues.

Regarding his expertise and interest in AppMon plugins, Bert had this to say:

Although the plugins are not the core functionality of AppMon, I really appreciate the amount of extensibility they offer. Often a few monitoring plugins can be used to completely reduce the need of a legacy monitoring system, which also comes with a cost. Plugins enable the integration of everything into nice Dynatrace dashboards...Within our SDES division another important track is ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and we have a lot of expertise with Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server. Making and sharing the TFS/VSTS Automation Plugin was a no brainer.

When he's not working at Realdolmen and sharing his work with the rest of the Community, Bert enjoys mountain biking...when he has time that is.

I’d like to ride with my mountain bike, but I don’t find a lot of time to do so. In Belgium we all have a brick in our stomach, so they say… For a few years now, all my spare time goes into the renovation of our house. I'm almost finished though…

So it appears Bert is always building something and we'd like to publicly thank him for helping us build the Dynatrace Community into a valuable resource for all Dynatrace Customers!
