It is possible to rename transactions going from synthetic enterprise in CAS?

If not what is the best way to rename the exisitng transactions without double them in CAS?

Thanks

Hi Alex,

Yes, you can go to step 1.Add application transaction and you can rename your transactions in there. Example I have my application ZZ_Google_Advance configure like this:

But I want  to change it to just Google and make my transaction name more meaningful. all you have to do is to change the name like this:

Apply and publish out the changes.

Like you mentioned from the point where you publish the changes you will have the new names in CAS  and the old names for the day. After that day you should see only the new names but... the old data will keep the old names and there is no way that I know of to rename the old data to the old name.

Please let me know if you still have questions.

Erick Z.

Hi Alex,

Yes and no.... (smile).. You can rename the applications but it's not possible to do it in CAS. You have to rename your app directly in the Synthetic monitoring console. If what you want is to match you RUM apps vs Scripts the name's have to be exactly the same. The same goes for the transactions names you can rename them in the  SyM console.

If you have more than one script for 1 app and want to put everything into one app in CAS is also possible. You have to group together  the two scripts under one app in the SyM console but they have to be executed in different task.

If something doesn't make sense to you let me know and I'll put together an example and I'll attach it to the post.

EZ

Hi Erick,

Thanks for fast reply.

I'm not very good in Synthetic enterprise and i don't want to broke it.

We have configured several transactions, they are shown on 1 applications, but the customer would like to change the names

If i understand well the system if i change the name, the system will double the transactions (old name with old metrics and new name and new metrics), am i right?

If no please point me where i need to change name in the Console

Thanks

Hi, Himanshu. You might want to open this as a new question to help others locate it.

When changing the Location of an Agent, you will need to ensure you have also assigned the appropriate Transactions to that Location in the Console.

Thanks!

Erick,

Are we able to get rid off the Launch_To_Close and have a transaction named just "Google Time" that gives you the entire script time?

Thanks,

Sid
