We use one agent manager and some agents in an "agent initiated" way of connecting agents to agent manager, port 443.
We upgraded from 12.3.6 to 12.4.5 one month and a half ago (agent manager + agents) and since that time we keep having the same problem : sometimes all works fine for hours or a few days (never more), and suddenly agents cannot connect to the agent manager and start accumulating files in the works folder. Port 443 no longer responds. At that time, even "telnet localhost 443" doesn't work on the agent manager itself...
There was no problem at all when using 12.3.6 (with 128 agents of which 60 to 80 were active at the same time) and we'd like to know if someone experienced the same issue. Support has a very hard time finding a solution. We have reduced the number of active agents down to about 60, but the problem is still there. We could agree to a network problem or a "agent manager server" problem, but first of all we'd like to understand why it happened at the time of the upgrade (what did change between 12.3.6 and 12.4.5 in the way the agents talk to the agent manager).

We can reproduce this here; we have provided the 12.4 Agent Manager web service patches similar to those for 12.3. And we are working on additional patches for Publishing.
