Change of hostname

If a hostname gets changed on the command line of a host that already has an agent does that change get shown on the details of the host in the Topology? We have an example of a host (with agent) getting cloned to a different IP address and then the name being changed on the command line. The original name and new IP continues in the Host details.

This would require a restart of the desired process to which you wish to see changes since the agent is already injected at the time the change is made. You could fully restart the host as well, but it is only necessary to do so for the processes required.

Hi Haden, Thanks for the reply. So are you saying that the "discoveredName" in the Host Topology API will change if I restart the host after changing the hostname ?

Hi Ray,

Yes that's right. It should change after a restart.
