Why am I not seeing a datacenter for my newly connected host?

We recently connected a new host to an ActiveGate. The expectation was that the ActiveGate would define the datacenter of the host, but we are still only seeing the AWS zones at datacenters in the SmartScape.

Hi John,

An ActiveGate is required for Dynatrace to create a datacenter for your hosts in SmartScape but will not use the location of the ActiveGate as the data center. Data center is either

  • A grouping of virtual machines running in an Amazon cloud instance. Dynatrace maps Availability Zones to your data center.
  • Or a set of vCenter-based virtual hosts that transmit data to Dynatrace via a single ActiveGate. You may have multiple vCenter servers or standalone ESXi hosts associated with a single data center.

Please see here for more info

Thanks

NJ
