question on audit.user.0.0.log file

I noticed there is a difference of 2 different sessions.

for the 11 Jan session, I log in and log out and the logs is as shown.

for the 9 Jan session, I log in but I did not log out.

Can I assume that user does get logout automatically after certain time of idle session?

Thank you.

Hello,

session in dynatrace does not expire automatically. Probably user just closed browser, then you will not have any event.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I thought so too as I was informed that it does not expire automatically until you close the session/browser.

On 11 Jan, I logged in and out of Dynatrace. hence the 3 logs statement have shown accordingly.

But the 9 Jan shows 2 entries of AutoLogout which is different and because I know I log in but did not log out. This lead me to believe otherwise that there is indeed auto logout then. Unless I logged in and close the browser (but did not click on sign out), hence 2 entries of AutoLogout is logged because I did click on sign out. If so, then maybe I could understand why it was logged like this....

Maybe somebody from Dynatrace will comment this, I don't know actual logging mechanism so much. But actually you are right that in managed session can expire. When Ieft my RDP with opened dashboard, next day I've had to login again. Maybe good question will be as well if you are using ldap or internal user database.

I am using internal user database

Log from your first message looks like there is some mechanism that is forcing autologout also after clicking logout. Generally in managed I think after some time session is expiring. I think it is long time, not 15 minutes, but I've got situation that I've left my remote machine loggedin and next day I was back on login screen.
