How do i search for a specific URL or an API/web service call from Dynatrace?

Our app team has informed us an issue caused by Dynatrace monitoring. We are not even monitoring this app but it got impacted by monitoring another app thru Dynatrace. Probably the apps are interrelated. I am wondering if there is a way to search for a specific URL in Dynatrace to find all the apps associated with it like smartscape topology view.

Hi @Salman N. You could use the diagnostic tool and filter by web request url. AFIK the only modification that dynatrace could do is insert an x-dynatrace tag at the header, in case the request is going from the monitored host/app to the unmonitored host/app with such url. (In that case i should show inside the unmonitored host or external hosts Services).

Thank you Dante for your prompt response. I will try out the diagnostic tool page and will submit an enhancement request for what you have suggested.

Salman

Hello @Salman N.

Opaque services are services that are detected on the calling side by Dynatrace for which code-level visibility isn't available. Dynatrace can detect requests to opaque services and identify which processes they are processed by, but Dynatrace can't monitor these services directly.

Have a look on the below link for better understanding about obaque service.
