Docker limitation on Linux

Hi,

I'm asking about docker limitation on Linux.

The following URL has the description "Docker topology isn't reported when using cloud-infrastructure monitoring mode on Linux."

https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/shortlink/docker-containers#limitations

What does "Docker topology isn't reported" mean specifically?

In the Smartscape, processes do not connect and only the state of the container be seen independently?

Our customer is trying to monitor the container that the only Database is working with infrastructure mode.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

In Smartscape at Host level the host will not be connected. But the services will show all the different connections between them.

Even if you have the DB in infra only mode, you will see the connections at service level. Think that Dynatrace see the connections with the DB from the calls done at AppServer, for example in Java, placing sensor in JDBC to see the times, exceptions, etc with the DB queries done.

Best Regards,
