Custom device, metrics, alerts and AI

Hello!

Is there a way to propagate custom alerts severity to AI processed problems?

For example, define kind of relation between core switch CPU utilization (custom device and mentric) and whatever object or service we know can be affected by it.

Sounds quite abstract but customer is asking if he can correlate external management system metrics and events (net manager) with Dynatrace managed microservice application using Dynatrace AI.

Kind thanks!

Metrics in Custom Network Device are not analysed by AI. You can define custom thresholds for those metrics but they will be static. Yesterday in another question there was info that AI for those metrics is somewhere on roadmap.

  • Seamless integration of custom metrics within the Dynatrace AI process
You can integrate all kinds of metrics by writing custom plugins, JMX, or by using the Dynatrace REST API. The new AI causation engine seamlessly analyzes your custom metrics along with all affected transactions. It’s no longer necessary to define a threshold or to trigger an event for your custom metrics as Dynatrace AI automatically picks up metrics that display abnormal behavio

Looks like new AI should process custom metrics. Am i understand it correct?

Hmmm looks like you've said... Maybe I've missed this information. Good to know 🙂 But for the purpose I'm using custom metrics AI will not work because data are sent not regularly.

I am asked to confirm if i got it right. We will try to check this funcionality. Sounds very promising...
