Question about Abnormality of OneAgent

menda
Guide

Hi,

Our customers will detect OneAgent errors by log file existing monitoring.

I have two questions about Abnormality of OneAgent.

  1. When OneAgent itself occurs an abnormality, can OneAgent output a messages log (Linux) or an event log (Windows)?
  2. If OneAgent output a messages log (Linux) or an event log (Windows), what error message does the log file include?
    • Message list
    • Type of anomaly

Best Regards,

Masahiko Enda

Hi Masahiko,

Any "abnormality" that happens with the OneAgent would be logged in the OneAgent log files. They are stored by default at /opt/dynatrace/oneagent/log for Linux and ProgramData%\dynatrace\oneagent\log for Windows. I do not believe every possible kind of Anomaly is documented anywhere but you can take a look at your OneAgent logs to get a better understanding of your environment.

Thanks

NJ

I understand this.

Masahiko
