Hi! I was wondering if is there planning in adding a Heat Map Feature, or if it is possible to add that feature exporting the user sessions.

Thanks!

Can you give us more details on the use case you want to solve with a heat map?

Hi! @Alexander S. Some MKT Teams use Hotjar (Another js agent/tool) we where checking the features to see if we can ditch them and replace the information it gathers with Dynatrace, to avoid compabilities and overhead of the browser of having both tools.

Hi,

A customer of mine also uses Hotjar, I would like to have it replaced with the Session Replay.

This would avoid one less JS to load, however hotjar gives him some more uses

Our marketing folks are also asking for this capability. They want us to get contentsquare (clicktale), so the designers can visualize the user experience on specific pages. I've already tried explaining that dynatrace has the data, but they want/need the visual aide.

Hi @Alexander S. Another use would be that not techi people (MKT or other areas) may not get what the XHR or Load Action Means, the Hot Map would be a useful way to show the interaction of all users and the popularity of certain changes. Like A/B deployment for user behaviour.

Hi @Dante P., what would these people do based on that information? Don't you think for A/B testing proper conversion analytics is more helpful?

A small change may not result in increased conversion, but may show designer or marketer that they are on the right track.

There was solution for appmon which was generating heatmap based on purelytics tree:

In geneal it may be possible to modify it for using with dynatrace, but this has to be checked.

It's unlikely. Heatmaps on Single page applications / responsive designs typically work very badly. We may introduce overlay analytics to understand where people are going to and where they are coming from and whether there are elements that are clicked often but do not lead to an action on the page to deduce actions. but not likely typical heatmaps
