SunOS Dynatrace OneAgent Version Switching

Dear All,

A strange behavior noticed for Solaris agents after upgrade to the latest version.

In the deployment status, we can see the following:

  • Your version of Dynatrace OneAgent (1.157.210) is outdated. The latest version is 1.175.270.

Hosts/OneAgent update settings switching between following after every few seconds:

  • Dynatrace OneAgent is currently on the outdated version 1.157.210 Version 1.175 available.
  • Dynatrace OneAgent is up-to-date on version 1.175.270

Regards,

Babar

I think this is due to not restarted processes after agent upgrade.
Are all instrumented process on the host fully restarted after the agent has been upgraded?

Hello @Julius L.

I verified with the application team, and they confirmed for the restart.

As always, verify it again. Ask for "ps -ef" output or other command declaring the processes have been fully restarted. I often encounter issues when administrators do only reload (in case of Apache / IHS / OHS) instead of restart.

Next step is to investigate oneagent log files (you can download it from the Dynatrace UI for the host).

Hello @Julius L.

Agree. Due to some past experiences, I learned to verify twice after the confirmation about anything from other teams.

Thank you for all your assistance.

Babar
