Modify JMX metrics

Hello,,

Is it possible to modify JMX metrics, e.g. change the filter to add a other service without loosing existing metrics?

I hope all metrics are registered so that when you remove a jmx plugin, and later add it again, dynatrace will recognize they belong together. or does this mean two different metrics?

And an other example, what happens when you have a metric with the same name twice?

You can just add metrics to an existing plugin. Just download the plugin, change it (also increment version in the JSON file) and upload back. No data will be lost if you do it this way.

I'm not absolutely sure here, but I think measured data will be lost when you delete the plugin.
