Capture Host name in payload as a impacted entity?

HI ,

I have generated a problem ticket for server down and want to capture host name only as impacted entity field in payload .

I am able to capture host name in problemdetails place holder but so many other values are also coming , moogsoft team is finding difficult to pick host name from problemdetails place holder value.

in impacted entity , I am getting below value. no impacted host name.

"ImpactedEntity": "2 infrastructure problems on 2 Infrastructure components",

Could anyone please tell me how can I capture only host name in place holder ?

Regards,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

What is the output of {ImpactedEntities}? Looking through the example in the documentation page it looks like this placeholder should have the "entity name" or hostname that you are looking for.

Let me know what the output of this is once you give it a try.

Thanks

@Ravi K. We had a similar issue with problem notifications. The problem is that there is no place holder that will always report the host host of the issue. This is evident when a process or service on a host causes a problem card. The best way around this is to create a Custom naming rule for services and processes. We have a published use case that shows a bit of this. I would recommend you review it.
