Windows Service name

Hi,

Recently it was announced support for Windows Service monitoring:

https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/gain-better-visibility-into-your-infrastructure-with-windows-ser...

Can anyone help how does Service name and Display name values work?

Are these values taken from Windows Services definition or this is purely DT naming?

What happens if the chosen Service name does not have corresponding Display name?

Thank you,

Martin

You can find the service name if you open services on the server, right click on the service in question and go to properties. The Service Name is the top entry.

You can make the display name anything you want to make sure that you know what you're monitoring. If you need inspiration you can just grab the display name on the same properties page.

You can find more info here: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/how-to-use-dynatrace/hosts/monitoring/windows-services/
