Dynatrace Backup on S3 ?

danielbr

Hi,

1) Does anyone know if there's an issue using an S3 mount to be used as a backup folder for dynatrace?
I noticed this warning in the docs, but am not sure if that could be a problem:

"The protocol used to transmit data depends on your configuration. We recommend NFSv4. We don't recommend CIFS. "

2) What are the consequences of under-estimating the backup size? can it lead to a node crash?

Thanks,
Daniel

1. If you want to reduce storage costs and use S3 instead of NFS, you can either use S3FS protocol to mount directly the storage to OS path. Or you can use AWS Storage Gateway to achieve same thing. Both solutions work. They have slightly worse performance so backup time is longer.

2. If you have not enough disk space backup will just fail. Nothing else happens.
