Custom cluster ID and node ID

Hello,

I like to use the nice format [runs of host] to show the host name in a PGI. Now I found no extra info in the process (env or -D) so custom node ID looks like a nice option?

After this a naming rule to change the ID into a real node name,

Could this work?

Hey, can you clarify what's the use case and what you want to achieve? Maybe an example of how it is currently and how it should look like? Is that related to Dynatrace Managed cluster nodes and self-monitoring?

Hi Radoslaw,

The question is simple, can I have different process names in a process group. And the answer is no.

Except:

To identify nodes within a process cluster that run on the same host, use the DT_NODE_ID environment variable. This tells Dynatrace which processes should be taken as separate process group instances.

Looking at the included screen shot, Dynatrace custom cluster/node ID are these the value's of the DT_CLUSTER_ID and DT_NODE_ID?
