Dynatrace ActiveGates Automatic Updates

Need to know how ActiveGates automatic updates works, does it go node by node or all at once? Does it happen automatically with Cluster nodes or separate? and does it require any downtime?

Hello @saeedtemraz ,

Automatic Updates happen once it's available despite the ordering as The availability check is performed at 30-minute intervals. and once there is an update it will be updated automatically, also, you can change it to a manual update and use the steps here

all the updated packages for ActivaGate and OneAgent are installed on your Managed Cluster server, you can check the Installation Files via CMC-> settings-> Automatic Updates

Best Regards,

Mohamed

thanks a lot @Mohamed_Hamdy, is there a downtime if I enabled automatic updates?

Hello @saeedtemraz, Yes, typically it will take like a minute or two, however, if you have two ActiveGates for redundancy and high availability, you can make the update one by one so OneAgent traffic routing will not be impacted. however, if you are using AG extensions, you might lose the data for a minute even if you are going  to switch to another AG group "extension v2" or switch to another AG "extension v1"

also, you can find another related topic here, raised by Dynatrace Dynamights
